How I spent my summer vacations
I was pretty tired after giving all the exams in my 4th semester because I had to give exams for regular subjects as well as 1 back paper from the 2nd semester. After my exams got over, I planned an outing with my childhood friends. We decided to go to Starbucks Coffee House in Connaught Place. None of us had ever been there, and thus we decided to go to the coffee house on 25th May. We were 7 friends in total, including me. We reached Connaught Place at 3 in the evening and in another 15 minutes, we all were sitting in Starbucks. The ambiance was good and the aroma of coffee beans was refreshing. We ordered our coffee and pastries, spent a nice time there and recalled our good old days from childhood. We left for our homes at 6:30 pm. It was a day well spent with friends and brought us more closer and strengthened our friendship.
I didn't go for an outing after that because then I got busy with my project work that was given to us to be done in our holidays. Though I used to come to college to meet my mentor for my project and in the meanwhile I also used to meet my college friends who came to the college for the same purpose. Also, I was eagerly waiting for the result of my end-year examination. I was a bit nervous before my results came out and as far as I remember, my results were out on the Amizone by mid June. Though I scored decent in my 4th semester exams, I was being held back in 2nd year due to my poor performance in 3rd semester examination. I was suffering from typhoid then and wasn't able to give my best shot. As a result, I had to apply for a year back which was pretty depressing for me. but after a few days I recollected myself and got back to normal.
My parents planned a vacation to Mumbai and Shirdi for the family. My father booked plane tickets for the journey. We had our flight on 1st July, en route to Mumbai at 3.30 pm. We reached Mumbai airport at 5 in the evening. We hired a cab to the hotel and freshened up. We went to Chowpatti beach to relax a bit. We did our dinner in a nearby restaurant and left for our hotel. We checked out of the hotel the next day because we booked tickets for a Volvo bus going to Shirdi. It took a little more than 4 hours to reach there. We checked in a hotel there and left for the temple. There were many pilgrims like us who came in there to get the holy blessings of Sai Baba. The queue for the entry to the temple was very long and we waited for hours in the queue before we could see the holy idol of Sai Baba. After praying to God, we came out from the temple and did our dinner in a restaurant. The next day we saw visited other local temples in Shirdi and in the noon, we came back to our hotel, checked out from there, and left for Aurangabad Airport to catch our flight back to Delhi. After travelling for 3 hours, we reached the airport and boarded our flight back to Delhi. We reached Delhi by 8 pm or so on 3rd July.
I saw many ups and downs during my holidays, hard times and moments worth cherishing, but at the end I learnt that whatever may come to me in future i always need to remember one thing: "Hope for the best and prepare for the worst", anyway, overall my holidays were a mix up of many things that I will remember all my life.
